Attention Young Water Professionals in BC!

Waterlution is seeking applications from young water professionals ages 20-35 years old.

Dates: November 14-15, 2024
Location: Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Center, Whistler BC

Do you work in the water and climate space?

Are you passionate about advancing reconciliation?

Are you interested in building your knowledge on UNDRIP and how to apply it to your work?

Working Together on Water: an UNDRIP Approach, invites you to join us to listen, learn, and collaborate.

This 2 part workshop series will strengthen your understanding of UNDRIP, while exploring ways to address water and climate challenges across the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and Líl̓wat Nation traditional territories.

Who should apply?

  • Indigenous and non-Indigenous young professionals with lived and work-related experience in the water & climate change space
  • Ages 20-35 living and working in BC
  • People currently working or interested in working in government, policy, planning, agriculture, water management, fisheries, forestry, education, arts, and more

What to expect

  • Strengthen your understanding of UNDRIP - learn about the history of UNDRIP and the implications of how we can work together today across BC
  • Deepen your knowledge of the water and climate challenges faced in the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and Líl̓wat Nation traditional territories
  • Collaborate with colleagues on ways of working together under the guidance of UNDRIP
  • Strengthen relationships and resilience
  • Build skills in collaboration, cross-sectoral dialogue, deepen understanding about climate changes impact on community health, water and food security

Waterlution- a federally registered Canadian non-profit – has successfully established itself as an internationally recognized water-focused organization offering distinctive capacity building, leadership and facilitation training to spark and mentor innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs in the water and climate change space.
