GoodWork Advisors & Succession Planning

Help Sustain and
Grow GoodWork !

In order to sustain the vital role that GoodWork provides, we need to grow beyond our current structure. We invite interested professionals to help envision the best path forward.

Seeking: Advisors, Focus group members, Board members, Collaborators
Organization: GoodWork
Location: remote, anywhere in Canada
Type: unpaid/pro-bono, at least during initial visioning. There is the possibility of future paid contract/consulting work, to be discussed.

Context

For twenty three years, GoodWork has served as a vital, trusted hub for a green, sustainable world. What started as a humble email list has grown into a network for meaningful work and involvement across Canada. Driven by an underlying passion for environment and sustainability — 46,000 green jobs and counting. GoodWork has sown many of the seeds that have grown into today's environmental movement. For all this time, GoodWork has been serving the community primarily through the work of our founder, Peter Blanchard, occasionally assisted by staff, board members and volunteers. To continue into the future, we will need to grow beyond our current structure.  We need to discuss things such as organizational structure, board development, partnerships/collaboration, succession planning — and in general, building on what GoodWork has achieved so far.

Details

We envisage several ways to connect...

(1) Focus group

We will be holding a focus group to brainstorm GoodWork's options / the best path forward. We'd love to hear from those who would like to take part. If interested, please email sustain@goodwork.ca , indicating your background and interest. The date is to be determined, depending on the availability of its participants. It's likely to be a single, one-time event, online/virtual.

(2) Advisors 

We are seeking participants for GoodWork's informal team of advisors. Unlike a board of directors, there are no meetings, no legal requirement. A few times a year, when we have a question or conundrum, we'd contact you by email. If you have something to say, we invite your thoughts and advice on the issue at hand. But there's no obligation, it's totally flexible. If you'd like to be on our list of advisors, please email us and let us know: sustain@goodwork.ca . Please mention any professional skills or background that might be relevant.

(3) Other 

A third possibility is... we're flexible! If you love GoodWork and/or the greater environmental community, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
