Hiring: Community Science Coordinator
Type: age 30 & under / summer
Organization: The Pigeon Lake Watershed Association
Location: Pigeon Lake, 1.5 hours southwest of downtown Edmonton. County of Wetaskiwin. (Hybrid: 3 days in office at the Village at Pigeon Lake, and up to 2 days working from home.
Anticipated Start Date: May 6, 2025
Last Day of Summer Position: August 16, 2025
Hourly Wage: $17.00
Work Week: Tuesday to Saturday
Job Summary:
As part of our summer stewardship team, the Community Science Coordinator will be responsible for facilitating the PLWA Community Science Programs. This is a summer term position. The Community Science Coordinator will be key in helping members of the community to "Be Part of the Solution" by supporting our efforts to monitor the health of Pigeon Lake and its watershed.
The tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Other tasks may be assigned at the discretion of the General Manager.
Work Location:
The Pigeon Lake Watershed Association office is in the Village at Pigeon Lake. This position has the option to work from home up to 2 days per week if there are no tasks or events that need to be in-person. Some activities will require day travel to other locations around the Lake and watershed.
Education/Certification/Experience:
Enrolled in and completed (or completing), at a minimum, the second year of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Sciences or a related field.
