Hiring: Operations Intern

What is Trufflepig?

Trufflepig is a trip-planning company based in Toronto, started in 2004. We’re really good at what we do, which is to plan and operate complex, imaginative, carefully orchestrated custom trips in many different countries around the world. Our clients are couples, families, and groups of friends who are curious about the world and looking for top-notch travel experiences. We are known for the depth of our planning expertise, our attention to detail, and our highly personal customer service.

Beyond our HQ in Toronto, we have a second office in Burgundy (France) and a number of home offices spread around the globe. Trufflepig currently employs 35 full-time staff who work in a distributed fashion across those different locations. We operate in English.

Role Overview

As an intern at Trufflepig, you will immerse yourself in the operations of luxury travel planning. Your role is crucial in supporting the seamless execution of trips, ensuring clients experience the extraordinary service for which Trufflepig is known. Depending on your strengths and interests there is an ability to adapt the role once the core tasks are mastered. This position serves as a foundational stepping stone towards Coordination roles within Trufflepig.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfillment: Assisting in the assembly and dispatch of travel documents and packages
  • Booking and Pre-tripping Trip Elements: Ensuring bookings are aligned with trip itineraries and client preferences as directed by planning teams.
  • Ordering Inventory: Procuring essential items for trips that enhance client experiences.
  • Component Building in our Internal Trip Planning Tool: Crafting travel components within our proprietary system (FMP)
  • Traveller Profiles: Creating and updating client profiles to tailor travel experiences meticulously.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Enthusiasm for travel and an understanding of luxury service standards.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Proficiency in GSuite and adaptability to proprietary software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a related field (Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, etc.) is preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the luxury travel industry.
  • Hands-on experience in operational and planning aspects of travel management.
  • Development of Soft Skills critical to the travel industry (Teamwork, Communication and Collaboration)
  • Networking opportunities within the travel and hospitality sector.
