About SF4C

Sustainable Food Systems for Canada (SF4C) is an innovation platform designed to ignite the next generation of agri-food innovators and establish Canada as a global leader in the sustainable agricultural revolution.

We have catalyzed a national network of top agri-food post-secondary institutes and organizations uniting diverse partners to deliver innovation programming across Canada. SF4C supports a growing ecosystem of private sector, Indigenous, newcomer, and community partners, working together to create inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready agri-food systems. SF4C’s core programs — Train (microcredentials), Collide (networking opportunities), and Mentor (mentor and leadership connection) — aim to empower learners, researchers, and innovators to shape a sustainable food future for Canada.

About the Council

The SF4C Next Generation / Emerging Leaders Advisory Council brings together high school and post-secondary students, adult learners, and emerging youth leaders from across Canada to provide meaningful input into SF4C’s programming and priorities. Note: Enrollment in an institution (high school or post-secondary) is not a requirement.

Committee members will:

  • Advise on program content, design, and delivery for Train, Collide, and Mentor programs.
  • Ensure Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles are embedded across all initiatives.
  • Represent newcomer, racialized and other underrepresented communities across the agri-food sector, including farmers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
  • Provide feedback to enhance the accessibility, cultural relevance, and impact of SF4C’s offerings.
  • Help shape Canada’s agri-food innovation ecosystem through collaboration and youth leadership.
