Position: Ecological Technician - Summer Student
Type: age 30 & under / summer
Organization: Watersheds Canada
Location: Perth, Ontario (or Central-Eastern Ontario with ability to regularly drive to Perth head office)
Anticipated start date: May 5, 2025
Pay: $18.00/hr at 37.50hrs/week
The successful applicant will contribute to the stewardship and outreach work at Watersheds Canada by working to raise landowner awareness of water stewardship principles and environmental impacts on the lakes within the area. Working with partners, organizations and individuals, the Ecological Technician Students are responsible to assist in the delivery of our Love Your Lake program. This will include field work focusing on carrying out shoreline assessments. The students will use the Love Your Lake Protocol to assess shoreline properties and lake habitats, enter data, and delivering online workshops and presentations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Some College or University, with preference given to those with a specialization in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Studies/Science or Biology.
Experience:
None required, however preference will be given to those with some experience in the conservation and/or non-profit sector(s).
