Position: Coordinator, Social Media
Organization: Efficiency Canada
Work Location: Remote Position (Ontario preferred)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Coordinator, Social Media to assist with national and regional campaigns aimed at securing policy change. In this position, you’ll join a collaborative team of communications specialists and manage our output on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. This role is best suited for a creative self-starter who can take our research and transform it into engaging and digestible content to engage advocates and policymakers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social media efforts organization-wide, including planning, monitoring, and community engagement.
  • Lead online digital advertising campaigns.
  • Develop on-brand visual assets (graphics, report covers, infographics) and ensure all visual content aligns with Efficiency Canada's brand guidelines.
  • Edit video content (webinars, interviews) to create actionable online content.
  • Analyze social media performance and conduct audience research to contribute to the overall digital growth strategy.
  • Stay updated on digital communications trends, including web accessibility, usability, and industry changes, and develop channel-specific ways to engage audiences.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar to ensure consistent and timely delivery of social media content.
  • Help grow our email list through social media and support email content and strategies to deepen engagement with key audiences.
  • Work across teams to ensure social media efforts complement and amplify broader campaigns.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
  2. Experience: 2–3 years of previous experience in social media, communications, or a related role.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in writing and editing various communications; experience implementing online communications campaigns for research and advocacy; familiarity or interest in using tools like Asana, Canva, and Descript.
  4. Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects; comfortable with social media planning, curation, analytics, and reporting; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and work independently when needed; positive, proactive, and collaborative team player with a passionate commitment to Efficiency Canada's mission.
  5. Additional Requirements: Bilingualism in English and French is a plus; knowledge of running paid advertising campaigns; experience in the non-profit or not-for-profit sector.
  6. Must be a Canadian citizen, a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada or legally entitled to work in Canada.
  7. Based in Ontario (preferred)
  8. Comfortable working remotely and using remote work tools (Slack, Google Meet, Asana, etc.).

Reporting Structure

The Social Media Coordinator reports directly to the Communications Specialist, and is part of the Communications team.

Compensation

  • $68,000 annual salary
