Position: Content Creator/Social Media Coordinator

About Us:

Relay Education empowers youth and communities across Canada and beyond with knowledge and skills in renewable energy, environmental literacy, and green career development. We’re seeking a creative and dedicated Content Creator to help us expand our impact online through engaging social media content, particularly on Instagram and Facebook.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a talented individual to produce high-quality content, with a focus on filming reels that bring our programs and mission to life. Ideally seeking someone with experience in creating content on environmental topics and knowledge of this corner of the internet. This role may also involve creating paid ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram. Social Channels: Instagram/Facebook @relayeducation | Linkedin

Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy: Develop a monthly content calendar with posts that align with our brand and goals.
  • Video Content Creation: Film and edit engaging reels for Facebook and Instagram that work for topics related to Relay’s work, the platform’s algorithms, and help to grow our social presence. You will be the face/voice of these reels. Must be comfortable/have experience in writing scripts and pitching topic ideas for reels.
  • Paid Ads Management: (Preferred) Create and manage targeted Facebook and Instagram ad campaigns to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor post and ad performance, reporting on key metrics to continuously refine our strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in social media content creation, particularly on Instagram and Facebook.
  • Strong video and reel production skills.
  • Experience creating content about environmental topics (renewable energy, energy conservation, green careers, sustainability)
  • Experience in managing or creating paid ads on social media platforms is highly desirable.
  • Creative and proactive, with an ability to work independently while aligning with our mission.

Budget: We have a monthly budget of $1,000 for this role. Since this will be a freelance contract, we’re open to a retainer model or developing a set number of posts per month within this budget.
