Position: Administrative Chair
School: Trillium Waldorf School
Location: Guelph, Ontario

Job Type: Full-time
Salary range: $62,000-$65,000 plus benefits, including tuition remission for dependents.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Administrative Chair (AC) to lead and oversee the non-teaching operations of the school. The AC will be responsible for financial management, strategic planning, admissions and enrollment, business operations, communications, personnel management, compliance, and risk management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all administrative functions to ensure the school runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to non-teaching staff, including administrative and finance personnel.
  • Contribute to developing and managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and fiscal responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, accreditation requirements, and health and safety standards.
  • Support and implement strategic initiatives in collaboration with the Faculty, Administration, and Board (FAB) Committee.
  • Manage school policies, procedures, and administrative evaluations, including applying HR best practices
  • Supervise facilities management, building maintenance, and IT infrastructure.
  • Oversee school communications, admissions, and marketing strategies.
  • Address concerns from parents and the community, fostering a positive school environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organizational, financial, and strategic planning skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in budget management and fiscal oversight.
  • HR knowledge, including hiring, compliance, and personnel management.
  • Proficiency in mediation, conflict resolution, and team leadership.
  • Familiarity with Waldorf education principles and philosophy is an asset.

  • Adaptable and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong collaborative skills with faculty, staff, and parents.

Reporting & Evaluation

  • Reports to the Board of Trustees and works closely and collaboratively with the Faculty, Administration, and Board (FAB).
