Position: CRM Manager - parental leave coverage

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the Salesforce CRM platform and its connected systems, ensuring they align with the organization's goals. The CRM Manager handles user support, system setup, customization, data management and continuous improvements aiming to boost efficiency and support data-driven decisions.

This position also fosters innovation and collaboration, working with teams to increase reach, engage supporters, grow the donor base, and strengthen impact. This position is hands-on, combining day-to-day system management with project work to ensure smooth, effective operations for all users, including donors, supporters, and employees.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with strong troubleshooting abilities, capable of developing innovative and effective solutions both independently and as part of a team.

This position is primarily remote but with occasional in-person events in Vancouver and Victoria.

HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

Engagement strategy:

  • Working with the Communications, Campaigns, Education and Development teams, contribute to the development, implementation, measurement and ongoing refinement of SCBC’s engagement strategy, with primary responsibility for its digital components.
  • Work to ensure that external communications are targeted to the most relevant individuals through proper segmentation and data analysis.

Digital Systems management:

  • Ensure data flow and integration to maximize system performance of our digital tools including our CRM (Salesforce), data management tools (DemandTools), donor management software (Causeview), digital engagement tools (e.g., Marketo, New/Mode, Gravity Forms).
  • Customize and configure Salesforce and other digital systems, including creating custom objects, fields, page layouts, views, report functions, dashboards, workflows, validation rules, and process automations.
  • Optimize system performance by staying current with digital system updates, performing regular audits, data cleansing and troubleshooting issues and technical problems.
  • Utilize data loader tools and integration solutions for data transfers and migrations. Implement data validation rules, duplicate management, and mass updates to maintain integrity across Salesforce.

Training and on-boarding:

  • Provide training, ongoing support and advice to relevant staff and volunteers on the systems’ functionality, best practices, and new features.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new updates, ensuring functionality aligns with the team’s priorities and best practices for successful implementation and adoption.

Performance metrics, testing, data analysis and decision-making support:

  • Lead the development of systems for data collection, quality control, analysis and reporting to inform the strategies and tactics of campaigns, development and communications staff.
  • Create and maintain reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to different teams within the organization, including specialized reporting for internal users as required.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator Certificate strongly preferred, or equivalent experience that demonstrates proficiency in Salesforce configuration, customization, automation, reporting and data management with minimal guidance, generally gained through 3+ years in a similar Salesforce administrator role.
  • Salesforce-specific qualifications and experience:
  • Additional related Salesforce certifications are an asset
  • Knowledge of Reports and Dashboards, including Custom Report Types.
  • Implementation and administration of an email marketing platform with Salesforce integration, Marketo-Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Experience deploying and managing 3rd party Salesforce integrations and their assets. Specifically, experience with Apsona, Causeview, Gravity Forms, Marketo, and NewMode is desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel and managing large data sets using Salesforce data migration and import tools such as DemandTools, Data Loader or Data Import Wizard.
  • Excellent knowledge of Salesforce customizations and automations including but not limited to formulas, workflows, approval rules, email alerts, data maintenance and assignment rules.
  • Experience with Salesforce declarative programming tools such as Process Builder and Flow Builder.
  • Experience working in sandboxes and migrating functionality to production environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to new systems, communicate effectively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in a Windows and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Experience with registered charity processes and regulations is an asset.
  • Commitment to working in intercultural contexts and upholding JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) principles.

COMPENSATION:  

  • 16-month term parental leave coverage with the possibility of extension. Four days per week (30 hours), with a salary range of $52,000 - $61,000. (Full time equivalent: $65,000 - $76,000)
  • Four weeks of paid vacation and additional paid time off during holiday office closure.
