Job Description 

This position is ideal for an experienced program delivery manager with a passion for climate action and strong knowledge of building energy retrofits. The ideal candidate has the ability to understand and deliver technical programs with complex operational requirements, including project coordination and logistics management. This position is for someone with strong financial management and metrics management, an efficient administrator, comfortable with a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Retrofit Accelerator program, including the social housing, commercial and private accelerator projects, and overseeing a team of technical, outreach and research staff. Reporting to the Director of Energy Programs, you will collaborate with an experienced executive and delivery team to provide high-quality energy efficiency services, reduce energy poverty, and promote high-efficiency, low emissions homes in our communities. You will be responsible for achieving program targets, preparing and managing budgets, and ensuring operational requirements are met. You will ensure your team has the training and tools they need to excel in their role and provide outstanding support to customers.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • End-to-end management of the EnviroCentre Retrofit Accelerator Project, including development of annual program plans and budgets, achievement of annual and full-project targets
  • Ensures all components of project delivery are on-time, on-target and on-budget
  • Ensures client recruitment and business development targets are met or surpassed
  • Builds relationships. Identifies potential project opportunities, partnerships, clients and funders
  • Supports and manages development of innovative energy retrofit solutions for social housing and commercial residential properties
  • Ensures the Retrofit Accelerator project planning service is streamlined, efficient and effective to support building owners to successfully complete their deep retrofit projects
  • Manages development of energy retrofit technical tools and supporting technologies, including a building stock database
  • Manages development of a retrofit pathway model for social housing building stock in Eastern Ontario
  • Ensures that subcontractor agreements are in place, oversees contract management, and ensures that quality assurance practices are completed and maintained.
  • Represents EnviroCentre at regional stakeholder meetings, events, and conferences, as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in program delivery and staff management, with a minimum of three years at the management level
  • A college or university degree in a related field, or equivalent years of professional experience
  • Proven experience in business development, funding acquisition, partnership development, and contract management
  • Budgeting and financial management experience required
  • Experience tracking and achieving targets, monitoring metrics
  • Demonstrated experience in energy efficiency and home retrofit technical programs and tools, or adjacent experience
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, home retrofits, net-zero strategies, and carbon accounting
  • Experience hiring and supervising staff, contractors, and volunteers
  • Competency with organizational tools and platforms like Excel, Google Docs, Monday.com (or equivalent), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, and are comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, and manage multiple priorities
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, identify opportunities, and improve systems and processes.
  • A collaborative work ethic to support a caring, productive, and positive work dynamic.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A general understanding of sustainability and environmental issues
