Program Coordinator

Position: Program Coordinator - Foodlands
Organization: Rivershed Society of BC
Location: While we are open to applicants within the Fraser Watershed, preference will be given to those who live OUTSIDE of the Lower Fraser. i.e. preference will be given to those who live in or near Prince George, Quesnel, Wiliams Lake, Kamloops, Lillooet, etc. We will accept applications from the Lower Fraser (i.e. Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley) but are looking to strengthen our team in other regions. 

Position Type: Full-time (35 hours/week) temporary, up to November 31, 2025, with a strong possibility of extension. Rivershed is a remote team and this position will be up to 90% remote/work from home.
Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000/year, with two weeks vacation to start and optional extended health and dental (50/50 co-pay)

We are seeking a dedicated Program Coordinator to join our team and play a key role in advancing our mission, with a specific focus on the Foodlands Corridor Restoration Program.

Role Overview:
As the Program Coordinator, you will focus primarily on the Foodlands Corridor Restoration Program, working closely with the Program Manager to support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Foodlands Projects. You will also provide support for other projects and initiatives within the organization, contributing to the broader goals of the Rivershed Society of BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Coordination: Assist in the coordination of the Foodlands program, including planning, implementation, and reporting on program activities. Support on-site activities such as planting, site tours, and effectiveness monitoring.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with the Program Manager to manage relationships with collaborators, including First Nations, nonprofits, environmental consultants, and landholders.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Assist in drafting and reviewing program documents, preparing reports, and ensuring that external communications related to the program are accurate and timely.
  • Budget and Evaluation Support: Collaborate with the Program Manager to track program budgets and evaluate program outcomes.
  • Cross-Project Support: Provide administrative and operational support for other Rivershed projects as needed, including event planning, community outreach, and fundraising efforts.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with safety protocols and organizational policies.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Proven experience in program coordination, project management, or a related field, preferably within the environmental or non-profit sector. Familiarity with working with First Nations, and/or experience in restoration, stewardship, landscaping, or construction practices, would be highly valuable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion: A deep commitment to environmental stewardship and Indigenous rights.
