JOIN THE FUNDY BIOSPHERE REGION TEAM TO SUPPORT PUBLIC OUTREACH AND INTERPRETATION IN THE BIOSPHERE.

The Fundy Biosphere Region includes an area of over 442,000 hectares of New Brunswick’s upper Bay of Fundy coast, stretching from St. Martins to the Tantramar Marsh near Sackville and inland to Moncton. The Bay of Fundy and its adjacent landscapes form a unique region in its geological formations, terrestrial and marine ecosystems, and cultural heritage, as well as its variety of rural communities and urban areas. As a non-profit organization, the Fundy Biosphere Region is a community-based initiative comprised of individuals and representatives of various stakeholder groups, organizations and local communities working to promote the sustainable development of the region by enhancing the research and innovation capacity and by creating a forum for various groups to share information, knowledge and best practices... fundy-biosphere.ca

Summer job – Nature Interpreter

Job duties:

• Support and deliver public education and interpretive tours
• Assist with the development and delivery of the Amazing Places program and provide information on the regional wayfinding system Driftscape
• Communicate with the public about tide times and the ecology and geology of the Bay of Fundy and St Martins Sea Caves
• Assist in other public engagement events and projects within the Fundy Biosphere Region
• Collaborate with and support the Visitor Information Centre staff in Fundy-St Martins and Fundy-Albert
• Support development and delivery of ecotourism programming in collaboration with other organizations in the community
• Host activities and information booths during regional festivals and events

Term, rate and location:

• 3 month term, June – August, 2025
• 35h/week, typically weekdays 8:30am – 4pm with some evenings and weekends required
• $16.50 per hour
• Located in St. Martins, with travel throughout the Fundy Biosphere Region

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the environment or education
• Experience with public outreach
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability and desire to work outdoors
• Proficiency with Google Suite
• Bilingualism (English and French) an asset
• Knowledge of Upper Bay of Fundy and tides an asset
