Join Our Farm Family!

Are you passionate about working in nature, growing fresh produce, and embracing a sustainable lifestyle? We're looking for like-minded individuals to join our team for the upcoming growing season (May to October) with the potential to stay longer.

About Us

Since 2020, Green & Bloom has taken on many different iterations as we’ve continued to learn, grow, and solidify our roots. Today, we grow approximately 1 acre of 100+ different varieties of vegetables and flowers in Amaranth, ON. With each phase of the farm’s evolution, our intention has remained the same: to grow the healthiest plants using organic & regenerative agricultural practices that are good for the soil, the environment, and for our customers.

Green & Bloom Farm is run by Natalie and Shehan who, together with our desire for living a sustainable lifestyle, working in nature, and eating delicious and nutritious food, brought the farm into fruition. Farming is not an easy way of life, but it is a beautiful and fulfilling one. We still have so much to learn and experience, but we continue to grow every day.

Green & Bloom is located in Amaranth, just northwest of Orangeville. We are situated in a rural agricultural area surrounded by many farms. This will be our 6th growing season as a business and our 2nd season at this specific property. Our property features a swimming pond, small trails in a cedar forest, a nearby river, a campfire area, and a new barn structure.

We run a small CSA Veggie Bag program as well as farmers' markets — one in Toronto — wholesale veggies to restaurants, and make flower bouquets. We also keep a small laying hen flock and host various events on the farm, including workshops, yoga retreats, and farm-to-table dinners. We love cooking (fermenting, pickling, preserving) and eating delicious, farm-fresh food.

We're seeking individuals who are:

  • Hardworking, reliable, and adaptable
  • Passionate or interested about sustainable agriculture as a career or lifestyle
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physically capable of demanding tasks like lifting, bending, and carrying
  • Organized, communicative, and willing to learn
  • Able to work independently or with a team
  • Experienced with at least one season of horticultural work (preferred)
  • G license holders with a clean driving record for deliveries (preferred)

Please note this position is partially funded by the Youth Employment and Skill Program of Agriculture and Agri-food Canada. Applicants applying must meet these requirements:

  • Under 30 years of age,
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or a status refugee

Your Role May Include:

  • Plant, weed, and harvest over 100 varieties of vibrant vegetables and flowers, connecting with the rhythm of nature.
  • Create elegant floral arrangements that bring beauty to special moments.
  • Support farm events and gatherings, fostering a sense of community and celebration.
  • Care for the land with general farm maintenance and stewardship.
  • Embrace organic and regenerative farming practices, nurturing both crops and the earth.
  • Engage in physically rewarding outdoor tasks, soaking in fresh air and sunshine.
  • Collaborate with a hardworking, cheerful team or enjoy peaceful moments working independently.
  • Share the farm’s bounty and positivity with customers at markets and CSA deliveries.

What We Offer:

  • Hands-on experience in regenerative and sustainable farming practices
  • A welcoming community and supportive environment
  • Delicious, fresh food from the farm
  • Opportunities to learn about flowers, vegetables, and event preparation

Schedule

Farm staff are expected to work at least 4 days a week on the farm and 1 day a week for markets. On-farm work days are 7.5 hours long, while farmers’ market or CSA delivery days are approximately 9 hours long. We aim for a typical work week to be 37 and 40 hours of work.

Compensation

The hourly wage for the position is $18.00 per hour.

We are looking for like-minded individuals who are not afraid to get their hands dirty, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and are curious about farming and sustainable living. Someone who is willing to learn and not afraid of hard work.

If you're excited to be part of a farm that values nature, good food, and community, we'd love to hear from you!
