Position: Farm Operations Assistant

Sky Harvest is Canada’s first organic certified indoor urban vertical farm, located in Richmond, BC.

Our farm premises is an industrial unit and our team is a combination of part time and full time employees. We supply Vancouver restaurants and grocery stores with a wide range of high quality microgreens, leafy greens and edible flowers.

The Role and Duties

The Farm Operations Assistant is a “hands on” role, undertaking farming activities within the farm. The role reports to the Farm Operations Manager and also takes direction from the Lead Grower with respect to training and knowledge development.

Duties include:

  • Planting /seeding trays for a variety of different crops
  • Growing room activities, including watering and tray organization
  • Cleaning and sanitizing
  • Harvesting trays and packing crops for restaurants and retail

No prior knowledge is farming is required as training will be provided, although an interest in farming/agriculture would be beneficial.

The individual will need to have a reasonable degree of fitness and agility, for example working on step ladders is a requirement. Reasonable manual dexterity is also necessary.

The role offers between 20 and 40 hours work per week according to business demand and the successful individual’s availability.
