Job Posting: Fundraising Assistant
Organization: Rivershed Society of BC
Location: British Columbia

  • Position Type: Part-time (20 hours/week), temporary, until March 31, 2025, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and funding. This position will be up to 100% remote/work from home.
  • Compensation: $25/hour, with two weeks' vacation (prorated) to start and optional extended health and dental (50/50 co-pay).

We are seeking a dedicated Fundraising Assistant to join our team and play a key role in advancing our mission, working closely with our Fundraising Manager.

Role Overview:

As the Fundraising Assistant, you will support the Fundraising Manager in developing, implementing and monitoring fundraising initiatives. You will also provide support for other projects and initiatives within the organization, contributing to our broader goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Grant Writing: Assist in developing compelling proposals, reports, budgets and other grant materials for high-net-worth individuals, foundations and corporate fundraising, including sponsorships.
  • Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and fundraising data in a Customer Relations Management-type database, respecting the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
  • Donor Stewardship: Help maintain and build positive relationships with donors.
  • Appeal Writing: Assist in planning and coordinating creative, strategic and meaningful appeals, campaigns and activities to engage new and existing donors.
  • Grant Tracking: Work with staff to track grant deliverables and ensure timely reporting.
  • Communications: Work with the Communications Team to develop web, newsletter and social media content to market the organization, promote fundraising activities, and acknowledge donors and funders.
  • Strategy and Reporting: Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager to monitor and report the progress of the funding development plan. Assist in preparing fundraising reports and materials for the Board of Directors.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Experience in fundraising, project management, or a related field, preferably within the non-profit sector. Familiarity with donor management systems would be highly valuable.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion: A deep commitment to environmental stewardship and the mission of the Rivershed Society of BC.
