Position: Finance & Enterprise Analyst
Organization: 10C Shared Space
Location: The work location is onsite at 10C Shared Space in Guelph, with some hybrid options.

10C Shared Space (10C) is currently seeking a Finance & Enterprise Analyst to join the team. Working on a variety of projects as part of the 10C team, you will support the development and growth of the social enterprise and social finance fund offerings of 10C, with the Harvest Impact community lending fund as a focus area.

10C Shared Space is an enterprising non-profit changemaking hub that drives social innovation and community resilience in Guelph-Wellington, Ontario. With over 250 members working across diverse themes, we design and implement programs that foster collaboration, learning, and impact. By connecting changemakers with essential resources, we build relationships and drive sustainability, economic growth, and inclusivity.

Harvest Impact by 10C - is a social finance initiative of 10C. We are helping to build a strong and equitable circular food economy by investing in sustainability-driven entrepreneurs in the food, farm, and environmental space. We offer social finance lending between $2,500 to $50,000, and invest in getting to know the goals and impact measures that our entrepreneurs are seeking to achieve. In doing so, we aim to remove barriers and support our investees with the tools, training and network connections they need to thrive and build a more sustainable and more circular economy.

Role Summary

We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Finance and Enterprise Analyst to lead 10C and Harvest Impact’s financial analysis, fund development, and revenue diversification initiatives. This role is perfect for someone with entrepreneurial drive, financial expertise, and a deep understanding of enterprise pipeline development and partnership cultivation. As a key contributor to the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the organization and projects continue to grow sustainably and meet the needs of underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis & Impact Assessment:

  • Assist with reviewing Harvest Impact financing applications with emphasis on financial analysis of each project, developing detailed Investment Memos for opportunity review, investment and after care.
  • Continually improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and refine the related tools to carry out the project analysis and research part of the work.
  • Support investee data collection practices, to measure and report on the financial and social impacts of programs and enterprises ensuring alignment with core purpose statements, theories of change and logic models.

Pipeline Development & Relationship Building:

  • Market the Harvest Impact program (in alignment with available capital for deployment) to develop a strong pipeline of potential investees - projects and enterprises - aligned with Harvest Impact’s goals.
  • As part of pipeline development and investee service, provide wrap-around support, technical assistance (particularly in financial analysis) and facilitate mentor matching to 10C/Harvest Impact’s member enterprises.

Revenue Diversification & Business Development:

  • Support the 10C team and Harvest Impact investees with financial analyses for various programs and enterprises, identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and providing recommendations to guide financial strategies.
  • Lead the design and execution of revenue-generating strategies, new service offerings and partnership opportunities, to enhance 10C’s financial sustainability.

Strategic Fund Development:

  • Identify and leverage sponsorship opportunities, partnerships, and social investments that support 10C/Harvest Impact’s growth and impact objectives.
  • Support developing the Harvest Impact Data Room for investor and funder review.
  • Support the development of collaborative grant applications, and other funding initiatives to increase the reach and impact of 10C/Harvest Impact.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years work experience in finance, social enterprise, business development, or a related field within the non-profit, social enterprise or impact investing sector

Skills:

The ideal Analyst is someone who:

  • Has proven financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Enjoys developing well-researched Investment Memos, including investment analysis, research & data analysis, with graphic visualization of financial data
  • Has financial modeling experience and is able to provide support to applicants who may require assistance with framing a realistic business model
  • Has demonstrated interest and knowledge in social/environmental issues, social enterprise, and/or impact investing
  • Has knowledge of the following impact measurement landscape: Common Approach to Impact Measurement, IRIS+, GIIRS, and Impact Management Project
  • Has experience in building and managing investee, funder and partner pipelines, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and secure new relationships
  • Has a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a track record in revenue diversification and business development within non-profit or mission-driven organizations
  • Uses technology to support excellence, with high levels of comfort and familiarity with software programs like Google Workspace, Customer Relationship Management software, Airtable, data visualization tools, impact measurement platforms, etc.

  • You are passionate about community development, social finance, and supporting underrepresented groups and are excited at the prospect of taking tangible action to advance the social enterprise and community finance ecosystem
  • Proficiency in French is an asset

What We Offer:

  • An opportunity to contribute to impactful work within a supportive and mission-driven team
  • This is a full-time permanent role based on 37.5 hours/week, hours of work will include some evening and weekend work, and occasional travel
  • Salary range is $62,000 to $68,000 depending on experience plus 10 paid vacation days, 3 paid sick days and 2 paid flex days.
