Hiring: Maintenance Handy Person - Summer Camp Position
Type: age 30 & under / summer
Summer camp: Camp Tanamakoon
Location: Algonquin Park, Ontario

Are you an individual with a passion for the great outdoors and a knack for hands-on maintenance work? Join our dynamic team at an overnight camp nestled on its own lake in the heart of Algonquin Park! We are seeking mature candidates to fill the role of Maintenance/Grounds Specialist, offering a unique opportunity to work in a picturesque setting while acquiring and enhancing valuable skills.

Responsibilities:

• Operate boats for transportation and assist with waterfront maintenance tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance activities across the campsite.
• Undertake some specialized maintenance projects, including basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Collaborate with the maintenance supervisor to ensure the overall upkeep of camp facilities.
• Uphold safety standards and practices during all maintenance operations.
• Provide support for various camp programs and events as needed.

Qualifications:

• Basic experience or expertise in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work preferred.
• Hold a valid Driver’s License and a boat license.
• Possess Standard First Aid certification.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.

Contract Details:

• Five to six-month contract duration.
• Must live on-site in accommodation provided
• Competitive compensation plus room and board
• Starting salary 18.00/hour pending experience
