Call for Freelance Graphic Designers

I run a small, values-driven graphic design studio that is currently expanding beyond what one person can manage.

With a steady flow of creative projects, I’m looking to establish a collaborative relationship with a freelance graphic designer who would be excited to work with my lovely and eclectic network of mostly non-profit clients.

This is a contract-based opportunity for someone who is interested in sporadic freelance work. Project timelines and scopes vary—some are quick-turnaround promotional materials, while others are long-form projects such as brand development, report design, illustrated books, and animated videos.

You might be a great fit if you:

• Are fluent in Adobe Creative Suite — especially Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Competency in After Effects and/or Premiere Pro is desirable but not required.
• Love graphic design — not just as a skill, but as a genuine source of joy and curiosity
• Can confidently navigate a range of styles, from playful and experimental to clean and professional
• Care deeply about justice, equity, and inclusion, and bring that awareness to your creative work
• Are comfortable receiving thoughtful, constructive feedback and offering the same in return
• Communicate clearly and kindly, whether you're checking in about a deadline or diving into a creative brief
• Are able to set realistic timelines and follow through on commitments
• Feel at ease talking with clients to understand their vision and help translate that into compelling visuals

Projects vary in size and timeline. Some are quick turnarounds like event promos; others are more expansive, like animated videos, illustrated reports, or brand refreshes. The goal is to find someone who’s adaptable, collaborative, and ready to jump in when the right projects arise.

Formal education or past agency experience isn’t required — what matters most is your portfolio, your fluency in the tools, and your enthusiasm for the work.

Compensation
$40 CAD / hour
