Energy efficiency, advocacy & policy change

Position: Coordinator, Design
Organization: Efficiency Canada
Location: remote, anywhere in Canada

Position Overview

We are seeking a Coordinator, Design to assist with national campaigns aimed at securing policy change. In this position, you will gain hands-on experience using your design and communications skills to mobilize people across Canada to take action toward an energy efficient economy. This role is best suited for a creative self-starter who can take our research and transform it into engaging and digestible content to engage advocates and policymakers.

Responsibilities

  • Create on-brand and creative visual assets to promote our research for use on social media and the website.
  • Transform data into impactful interactive visualizations, advising on website integrations and software (as needed)
  • Create covers and finalized documents following our brand guidelines for our publications.
  • Assist with website updates and UX/UI redesigns on our Wordpress site.
  • Create informational long-form and short-form video content, as well as edit webinars, for posting on our social channels.
  • Test current software and tools; determine suitability and suggest improvements to current processes.
  • Ensure AODA accessibility standards are met, as required.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Possess an academic background in design.
  2. Experience: 1–3 years of previous experience in design.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in creating various design materials; familiarity or interest in using tools such as Descript, Wordpress, Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Tableau; HTML and CSS coding knowledge is a strong asset.
  4. Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks; ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and work independently when needed; positive, proactive, and collaborative team player with a passionate commitment to Efficiency Canada's mission.
  5. Familiarity with energy and environmental issues in Canada.
  6. Must be a Canadian citizen, a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada or legally entitled to work in Canada.
  7. Based in Ontario (preferred)
  8. Comfortable working remotely and using remote work tools (Slack, Google Meet, Asana, etc.).

Reporting Structure

The Coordinator, Design reports directly to the Manager, Communications and is part of the Communications team.

Location

The location of this role is remote. Preference will be given to residents of Ontario.

Compensation

  • $68,000 annual salary
