BloomTOwn Gardening is a Toronto based design, installation, and maintenance company that focuses on high-end residential clients. BloomTOwn has been working with some of the same clients for over 20 years and continues to build lasting and meaningful relationships. Job Summary

The Garden Care Lead Hand/Driver will perform tasks involving installing plant material, watering plants, weeding, pruning, cleaning up debris and loading/unloading trucks on site. Typically, the lead hand is also the crew truck driver between job sites.

Job Tasks

• Right-hand to the crew leader, manages themselves & the crew to execute tasks.
• Read plans, instructions, or work specifications to determine work activities.
• Responsible for ensuring all required PPE and safety equipment is used by crew members.
• Clean and prepare horticultural maintenance sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Receive training on the job site and learn the BloomTOwn way of gardening.
• Handle, install, fertilize, and water plant material.
• Load and unload gardening tools, machinery and distribute/return them to the appropriate location on crew truck.
• Perform weeding, pruning, transplanting, and debris cleanup as needed onsite.
• Drive to various jobsites.

On-the-job training and direction will be provided for all tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
• 1 year or more gardening or horticultural experience
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
• Communication: job requires daily reports using a smart phone and clear communication skills for articulating information to the crew leader.
• Organization: job requires organization skills and ability to complete tasks within given deadlines.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, seasonal position. Employees will be working outdoors in all types of weather. The workday starts between 8am - 9am. The hours will range from 40 to 50 per week, Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. The company works to provide long weekends off for all employees.

This position is physical and requires the applicant to lift weights of up to 50lbs and includes frequent repetitive tasks. It also requires the applicant to have experience driving trucks.

Salary Range:

Varies from $25.20 - $31.60 depending on skill set and experience.
