About the CFC
The Concordia Food Coalition (CFC) is a non-profit organization and a fee-levy group operating at Concordia University. The CFC brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to co-create campus-community food sovereignty. We collaborate to educate, innovate and incubate vibrant, sustainable, accessible and democratic local food systems. We aim to democratize the campus food system by moving away from corporate models while organizing towards student-led change.

This position has fundamental qualifications & skill requirements, but we appreciate and enthusiastically support honesty regarding your current skills and knowledge, as well as your propensity and inclination toward growth in key areas of the job duties. This posting has a wage range and weekly time commitment based on a fixed labour budget, but depending on the hiree’s current skills and expertise, during the hiring process, we may collaboratively determine how best to invest the labour budget between wage/hours and paid training or other development opportunities.

About the Wage
The wage range and weekly time commitment outlined are based on a fixed labour budget. During the training and probationary period, the role offers an hourly wage from $26-$28 per hour, depending on your expertise and ability to ramp up quickly. This allows us to adapt the time commitment and compensation to your needs and experience, ensuring success in transition to a salaried role. The salary for the first year is set, but with demonstrated success, entrepreneurial drive, and fundraising results, there is significant potential for growth in both compensation and impact.

The General Coordinator will ensure the growth, sustainability, and strategic direction of the organization, overseeing day-to-day operations and managing key functions such as finance, fundraising, HR, program oversight, and community relations. This role is essential in aligning the work of the CFC with its mission, vision, and values, while ensuring organizational efficiency and compliance. The General Coordinator will apply their expertise in project and program management to guide and support the leadership team, ensuring successful planning, execution, and decision-making across all initiatives. They will leverage digital and physical tools to manage hybrid teams, optimize workflows, and enhance collaboration across diverse projects.
