Hiring: Farm Helper - Organic Vegetables

Location: must live within commuting distance of Markdale, Ontario

We are hiring a student/youth worker for the season! Come join our small family farm and learn all about organic growing and regenerative farming. We are a Market Garden in Markdale growing organic vegetables for our CSA program and farmers markets.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working outside, is eager to learn, is physically fit, is between the ages of 15-30, and is VERY dependable. Garden experience is not necessary, just the willingness to learn!

Duties may include:

• Weeding garden beds
• Maintaining pathways
• Helping with harvesting Vegetables
• Creating new garden beds
• Planting Vegetables
• Other farm duties

The right candidate should:

• Be between the ages of 15-30 (Youth)
• Be able to take direction and work independently
• Be RELIABLE and eager to learn
• Be physically fit (bending, lifting, etc.) and enjoy working outdoors in all weather

Part-time hours: 3-4 days per week, 6-8 hour shifts; Days may change later in season

Start Date: Ideally May to October. If candidate is only available for the summer then you may be asked to work weekends in May and June.

Pay: $18.00/hour
