Position: Digital Content Creator
Organization: Captain Paul Watson Foundation
Location: Remote. Preference to candidates based in West Coast North America

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated Digital Content Creator to join our creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing compelling digital content that raises awareness about our campaigns, engages our community, and drives action to support our mission. The ideal candidate will be creative, have a strong passion for ocean conservation, and the technical skills to produce high-quality content across various digital platforms.

About the Captain Paul Watson Foundation: The Captain Paul Watson Foundation is an international, non-profit marine conservation organization that uses direct action to protect and conserve marine wildlife and habitats. Founded by Captain Paul Watson, a renowned environmental activist and co-founder of Greenpeace and founder of Sea Shepherd, the Foundation engages in direct-action campaigns to safeguard the oceans and their inhabitants from illegal activities and environmental destruction. We work on the front lines of ocean conservation, challenging poachers, illegal fishers, and other threats to marine life. Our mission is to educate, inspire, and mobilize global communities to protect marine biodiversity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Production:
  • Develop and create a wide range of digital content, including short videos, reels, graphics, and social media content, to promote the foundation’s campaigns and initiatives.
  • Capture and edit photos and videos from events and actions to create visually engaging content.
  • Design and produce social media visuals and other digital assets that effectively communicate key messages and data
• Social Media
  • Work closely with the social media team to plan, create, and schedule content across all social media platforms, including Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, X, Linkedin, and Youtube.
• Storytelling & Campaign Support:
  • Collaborate with the communications and campaigns team to develop compelling stories that highlight critical issues and motivates our audience to take action.
  • Assist in creating content for fundraising campaigns, online events, and public awareness initiatives.
• Analytics Monitoring
  • Utilize analytics tools to measure the performance of digital content, providing insights and recommendations to improve engagement and reach
  • Optimize SEO and social media best practices to enhance visibility and impact.
• Brand Consistency:
  • Ensure all digital content aligns with the foundation’s brand, values, and messaging
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media content trends, tools, and best practices

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Digital Content Creator or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in content creation tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Final Cut Pro, or other relevant software
• Strong writing or storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging content across multiple formats.
• Experience with photography, videography, and video editing
• A deep passion for marine conservation and alignment with the foundation’s mission
• Knowlege of social media platforms, SEO, and content marketing strategies.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
