What We Can Achieve Together:

The Operations Specialist will be a key member of Nature United’s Operations team and report to the Deputy Director. They will oversee and administer the organizations business operations processes, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of the organization, and strategize, design, and execute plans for continuous improvement initiatives as part of our organizational excellence strategy.

The Operations Specialist will manage the day-to-day logistics for Nature United’s Toronto office and provide support to other remote office locations, as needed. We expect this will include coordinating an office move within the first year of employment. They lead operations teams’ meetings and cross functional operational excellence groups. They will communicate with staff in various programs across the organization and will develop and keep up to date on best practices and standard operating procedures to improve team functions.

The Operations Specialist will bring project management, communication skills and operations experience to meet the strategic priorities of the organization. They will use a variety of systems including Smartsheet and MS Teams to manage projects and be a resource to other team members in navigating the systems.

This position must be located in Toronto and be available to work from the office at least one day a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

  • Develop documentation, provide recommendations, and host training to enhance the systems and tools used by the team.
  • Oversee the organization’s Quarterly and Annual reviews and reporting processes.
  • Track operations department spending and support the Finance department with payment tracking and forecasting.
  • Lead cross functional operational excellence working groups.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day general office management functions for the Nature United main office in Toronto, including but not limited to ordering supplies, liaising with IT, and communicating with property management. This may also include coordinating a move to a new office location.
  • Work independently, working with manager/team on complex matters as needed.
  • Make independent decisions within the scope of work assignments.

What You’ll Bring:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination
  • Experience implementing complex processes and strategic program goals
  • Experience writing reports and analyzing and interpreting data
  • Experience managing and implementing complex projects with multiple variables
  • Experience with business process analysis and/or improvement
  • Experience with MS Office suite of tools
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Basic financial and grant management experience

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience implementing new technologies to achieve desired results
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results

Salary Information:

The estimated starting salary for this position is dependent on experience, qualifications, and location.

  • Salary range in Toronto, ON is: $84,000 – $90,000 CAD annually.
