Position: Community Outreach Assistant

The Guelph Tool Library is hiring a Community Outreach Assistant. They will recruit and train volunteers from three underrepresented groups - seniors, newcomers to Guelph, and students, to assist with work at the Gueph Tool Library. This will include recuiting volunteers to act as librarian, fixers, program instructors, and inventory assistants.
The Community Outreach Assistant will work with and be supervised by the Guelph Tool Libary's Volunteer Coordinator. This role will allow them to work with community partners including Immigrant Services of Guelph Wellington, Guelph Wellington Seniors Association, and Guelph Collegiate Vocational Institute, to identify opportunities and recruit new volunteers. The Community Outreach Assistant will create a marketing plan, revamp training programs, create policies and procedures, and assist with on-boarding of the new volunteers. The goal is to recruit and train 30 new volunteers during the 8 month project.
This position is funded by an Ontario Job Creation Program Grant and will run for 8 months. The candidate needs to meet the criteria for funding
This position is for 35 hours a week for 8 months. The candidate is paid the minimum wage by the Ontario Provincial Government and the Guelph Tool Library as a Living Wage Employer will top up the salary to $22/hour (the current Living Wage for Guelph/Wellington County).
