Position: Program Manager – Climate Resiliency Programs

Position Overview:

The Program Manager – Climate Resiliency Programs will lead reThink Green's innovative climate resilience initiatives, focusing on business sustainability and community adaptation strategies. The role combines project management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership to expand and implement programs that build climate-resilient communities and support sustainable business practices across Northeastern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership and Management:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of climate resiliency programs.
  • Ensure program alignment with reThink Green’s strategic goals, including fostering low-carbon economic growth and sustainability leadership.
  • Manage multiple program components such as energy audits, stakeholder training, and emissions reduction projects.

Capacity Building and Training:

  • Develop and deliver capacity-building workshops, services, and training tailored to businesses, municipalities, and communities.
  • Lead educational events and initiatives to support the adoption of sustainable transportation, resilient construction, and urban agriculture.
  • Incorporate equity, diversity, and inclusion into program design and delivery to ensure accessibility for underserved communities.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including municipalities, businesses, communities, and regional partners.
  • Represent reThink Green at regional forums, promoting cross-sector collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Foster networks of sustainability leaders and facilitate peer collaboration among program participants.

Project and Team Management:

  • Supervise program staff and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
  • Develop work plans, timelines, and budgets for program activities.
  • Monitor program performance using metrics such as participation rates, emissionsreductions, and revenue generation.

Fundraising and Reporting:

  • Assist the Development Team in securing program funding through grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
  • Assist with the preparation of progress reports for stakeholders, funders, and the Board of Directors.
  • Leverage program results to attract additional investment and partnerships.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Business, Project Management or a related combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in program or project management within the sustainability, climate adaptation, or environmental sectors.
  • Proven success in managing complex multi-year projects with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in capacity building, business sustainability, and community engagement.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of climate adaptation, greenhouse gas mitigation, and sustainable development.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of Northern Ontario’s unique climate and socio-economic challenges.
  • Ability to communicate in French and English is an asset.

Work Conditions:

  • Home office based in Greater Sudbury, with occasional travel across Norther Ontario.
