Position: Climate Action Specialist – Bilingual (English/French) (Customer Success)

  • Salary: $60,000-70,000/year + stock options + on target performance compensation $10,000

The Role

We’re looking for a high-energy professional with a passion for problem solving and critical thinking who loves working with people, numbers and building things from the ground up. You will be a critical member of our Toronto hub located at Bay & Queen, working with the Commercial Team to grow our presence and customer onboarding experience and our primary point of contact for any francophone customers. As part of our in-house climate action team will work directly with our customers to help make carbon management easy and accessible.

Responsibilities

TLDR: Own the customer experience at Carbonhound end to end – all activities including (but not limited to) customer support, outbound customer success check-ins, inbound sales, and community building to grow our presence and serve our customers with empathy and integrity.

  • Support our Toronto commercial hub in growing the business through building relationships across the climate community. Including attending events, customer out-reach, and more engagement opportunities you identify!
  • Work collaboratively with the entire Carbonhound team to support existing customers in their journey to measuring, reducing, and reporting their carbon footprint
  • Help customers navigate our services: Onboarding, Data Concierge, Reduction Initiatives, Verification, Carbon Credit Purchases
  • Own the full sales cycle for inbound french leads to get new logos onto the Carbonhound platform and drive revenue growth
  • Work with the product team to use the feedback and insights from your customer interactions to create tangible improvements to the platform and generate business value
  • Continue to learn about climate measurement, carbon reduction, and other areas of climate action with the support of our Climate Lead
  • Democratize access to climate knowledge through educational training sessions and keeping knowledge hub help docs up-to-date (e.g. helping our community to decrypt standards like the GHG protocol and translate it into plain language)
  • Stay on top of climate news and events

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Experience applying the GHG Protocol Guidance & ISO 14064 Standards to create corporate GHG inventories
  • 2-4 years of professional, consulting or relevant volunteer experience
  • Understand the basics of building models on excel (e.g. forecasts, estimates, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (e.g. use clear, simple terms to explain complex topics)
  • Started or responsible for growing a company, organisation, club, team, or project
  • Have an undergraduate degree in STEM, Accounting, Finance, or Technical Business field or equivalent experience
  • Bonus: High-Level understanding of reporting frameworks (CDP, TCFD, B Corp, SBTi, etc.)
  • Bonus: Experience running sales cycles in a B2B environment

Experience Requirements:

  • Built personal and professional relationships across a group of stakeholders
  • Managed internal and external stakeholders to complete a project or reach a goal
  • Conducted data analysis to inform a major decision or suggest a path forward
  • Bonus: Design and facilitate training for audiences who are new to a topic
  • Bonus: Track record of generating climate related content (i.e. blog, white papers etc)
