About Break The Divide (BTD)
As our world faces the climate crisis—marked by extreme heat waves, wildfires, floods, and melting ice—more and more people, especially young people, are feeling intense emotions like anxiety, fear, and helplessness. These feelings can be overwhelming, but we believe they’re also part of what drives us to connect, understand, and take action.
At Break The Divide, we’re a small, passionate team that believes connection is essential to climate action. We’re not just colleagues; we’re friends who are deeply committed to supporting each other and building real relationships with the youth and communities we serve. Our programs create space for young people to explore their climate emotions, connect with others who understand, and share knowledge and ideas to build resilience together.
We’re intentional in everything we do—from clear communication to staying aligned with our mission—because we believe strongly in the impact of our work. We’re dedicated to creating safe, open spaces for young people from diverse backgrounds to bring their whole selves to conversations around climate emotions. Together, we’re working towards a future where empathy becomes action, and young people are empowered to build communities that envision and create a more abundant, harmonious world.
