PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Position: Program Coordinator / Community Development Worker
Organization: Sustainable Community Aid Network
Location: Mississauga, GTA, Ontario

Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator for the Youth Entrepreneurship Pathway and Job Creation Program will support the Program Manager in the planning, execution, and evaluation of program activities. The role involves coordinating day-to-day operations, liaising with participants and stakeholders, and ensuring the program runs smoothly and efficiently. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for business development activities, including recruiting new employers to participate in the program and finding youths to join the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in the development and implementation of program plans and strategies.
  • Coordinate daily operations and logistics of the program, including scheduling, resource allocation, and participant management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, providing them with information, support, and guidance.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and other program activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant progress, and outcomes.
  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of program participants and volunteers.
  • Coordinate with partners, employers, and other stakeholders to enhance program delivery and outcomes.
  • Monitor program progress and report on key performance indicators to the Program Manager.
  • Assist in the preparation of program reports, proposals, and other documentation.
  • Help manage program budgets and expenses, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of program processes and activities.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential employers to participate in the program, creating opportunities for youth employment and entrepreneurship.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with businesses, industry partners, and community organizations to expand program reach.
  • Create and implement strategies to recruit youth participants, particularly those from marginalized and underserved communities.
  • Promote the program through various channels, including community outreach, social media, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to attract employers and youth participants.
  • Organize and attend events, job fairs, and information sessions to raise awareness and generate interest in the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Social Work, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, preferably in youth development, entrepreneurship, or business development.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in event planning and facilitation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the local labor market and employment trends is desirable.
