Title: Program Coordinator (Conservation Planning, Science, and Data Management)
Reports to: Program Director
Organization: Nature NB
Location: Fredericton (would consider remote within New Brunswick)
JOB OVERVIEW
Nature NB connects people with nature.
We support a diverse network of nature-lovers across the province, providing opportunities for New Brunswickers of all ages, and from all regions and backgrounds, to discover, learn about, and share nature with each other. We travel throughout the province, teaching kids about nature in their schoolyards and neighbourhoods, advocate for species at risk through local outreach, and engage volunteers in monitoring and protecting the species and landscapes they love.
The Programs Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Nature NB’s species at-risk and climate change adaptation projects. The Programs Coordinator will also play a lead role in managing Nature NB’s conservation data and provide technical/scientific support to our conservation work (e.g. conservation planning, GIS, etc.).
Examples of projects this position may coordinate or collaborate on include: agroecosystems species at-risk conservation planning and on the ground projects, coastal conservation planning and partnership work, protected natural areas stewardship, and participating in national/provincial conservation working groups.
This is a permanent, full-time position with some weekend and evening work required.
At Nature NB we prioritize work-life balance and understand that our employees have busy lives outside of work. That’s why we offer some flexibility in our work schedule that allows you to work when you’re most productive and manage your personal obligations.
We also believe in the power of collaboration and teamwork. Our work culture is centered around supporting one another, sharing knowledge and expertise, and working together to achieve our goals. We encourage open communication and value every team member’s input and ideas.
In addition to our collaborative work culture and flexible schedule, we also offer a unique benefit: a four-day workweek. Our employees work four 8-hour days, giving them an extra day to recharge, pursue hobbies and passions, or spend time with family and friends. We believe that this extra day off not only benefits our employees’ mental health and well-being but also enhances their productivity and creativity when they are working.
