Position: Administrative Assistant

Start Date: As soon as possible
Position Type: Contract, Full time
Salary - 50-55k commensurate with experience

Join our small, passionate team of staff looking to grow the number of Green MPPs in Ontario and make our province a better place. This position is for a friendly, hard working, detail-oriented person who can handle multiple tasks in a high pressure environment and can learn quickly! You’ll be working alongside other Provincial Office staff in our Toronto Office, located in Liberty Village. You will be responsible for supporting both our Executive Director as well as other staff so the tasks will be many and varied. Hours of work will vary and will include evenings & weekends, as well as long hours during a campaign.

Duties & Responsibilities:

As the Green Party of Ontario (GPO) Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for the day to day administration of the GPO central office.

As an Administrative Assistant, you will:

  • Support office administration
    • Answering the phone, checking the mail, manage general email inboxes
    • Respond to inquiries from voters, members, candidates and riding associations in a timely manner
    • Data entry into database and voter software system
    • Assist with administrative tasks including keeping the office stocked and organized
    • Process donations
    • Lead with event planning

Qualifications

  • Love of detail, organization, structure and people
  • 1-2 years of administrative experience in an office environment preferred
  • Passion & commitment to social and environmental change in Ontario
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in working with various online technologies such as MS Office, Google docs, Slack, CRM database, wordpress, etc.
  • Experience with tasks requiring attention to detail and good organizational skills.
  • Hard working, willing to go above and beyond to get the job done
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at one time under pressure
  • General understanding of the political system in Ontario, or a willingness to learn
  • Flexibility -- we are a small organization and staff members take on various roles outside of our typical job descriptions
  • Written and verbal proficiency in French are strongly preferred
