General description of position:

The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Operations Manager, works closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director and Accountant, and will be required to perform a wide range of duties to assist with organizational support.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required

  1. General reception duties.
  2. Office administration
  3. Knowledge and familiarity with financial management.
  4. Inter-departmental support and communication.
  5. Demonstration of cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively with Indigenous peoples
  6. Understanding of operations in a non-profit, charitable organization including support for Board of Directors

Education and experience desired

7. Degree or diploma in business, management, accounting, human resources, or non-profit sector management

8. Two to four years in a similar position (admin assistant, HR assistant, IT assistant)

9. Experience working in non-profit and/or charitable organizations

Salary range

$43,680 to $49,140 ($24.96 - 28.08)

Working conditions

This is an in-office position which involves working mainly indoors and may also involve occasional work at events which may be outdoors, or at other venues. This position is Full Time (35hrs/week) but hours may be flexible to accomodate the right candidate. Occasional lifting of equipment such as computers, chairs, or comparable items up to fifteen (15) kilograms may be required. Extended periods working at a computer may be expected
