The Environmental Youth Alliance (EYA) engages equity-deserving youth to connect with nature, grow new skills, and make new friends. Our programs empower youth to grow native plants and create gardens that help birds, bees, and other wildlife living alongside us in Vancouver’s urban neighborhoods.
The Peer Mentor program is a volunteer opportunity open to youth ages 18-25 who identify as BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, and/or living with a disability. By volunteering, Peer Mentors will build leadership & facilitation skills through outdoor education and take part in hands-on habitat restoration work. You bring your experience and passion and we provide skill-building workshops, one-on-one mentorship with an EYA educator, and opportunities to practice facilitation and group leadership. A living stipend, bus tickets, and lunch on program days are all provided.
