Position: Field Internship in Conservation and Stewardship, Maritimes
Type: Please note that this internship is unpaid, however, there is no fee to participate, and all program expenses (food, accommodation, *in-program travel) will be covered by QLF. If funding permits, the internship may also include an additional stipend for participants.

Program Summary
Conservation and Stewardship Program, Maritimes: Conservation and Stewardship of Ecologically Significant Species in Protected Areas across the Maritimes.
The Conservation and Stewardship Program, established in 2017, focuses on promoting biodiversity conservation, restoration, and environmental stewardship at protected areas across the Maritimes region of Canada. In its seventh year of operation, this program will be delivered in partnership with the Nature Trust of New Brunswick, the Nova Scotia Nature Trust, and the Island Nature Trust; charitable land conservation organizations that conserve privately owned and ecologically significant land across the Maritimes.
This program offers hands-on, practical training in community-based conservation. Interns will gain field experience and skills in scientific data collection, environmental stewardship, and workshop facilitation. The program is carried out through a combination of community outreach and field-based conservation work, focusing on three key areas of activity across the Maritime region:
QLF is currently seeking 3-4 Interns for this program, to work under the direction of a QLF Team Lead. Program activities will be carried out in the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The team will be equipped with a vehicleand will travel together / share accommodation for the duration of the project.

We aim to finalize our selection process by early April 2025, but this timeline may be subject to change.

* In-program travel is defined as the cost of travel within the program dates once participants have reached the field site. For transportation to the field site, the equivalent cost of transport from Montreal, Canada to the field site is covered, any additional fees are the responsibility of the applicant.
