Organic herb farming

Position: Organic Herb Farm Internship
Farm: Stoeckli Organics Teas & Herbs | Shopify
Dates: April 2025 - October 2025

Location: Kincardine, near Lake Huron, Ontario
Housing: Accommodation available on the farm, room, and board provided 
Compensation: Room and board + $300 monthly stipend + Training and mentorship

We are offering a seasonal internship for one individual for the 2025 growing season. This is a great hands-on learning experience for individuals interested in small-scale organic herb farming. It provides the opportunity to learn how to grow, harvest, and process quality organic herbs for retail and online sales.

This is also a suitable position for future herbalists (practitioners) who would like to work with healing plants to get a better understanding of their use and healing properties. (some hours can be counted towards the Herbalist Program)

About the farm:

We grow 1-2 acres of medicinal and culinary herbs on our 100-acre certified organic mixed farm for the local food system. The herbs we use for our herbal products are certified organic, lovingly grown and handcrafted on our farm, or sustainably wildcrafted by us.

We create loose-leaf herbal teas, culinary blends, herb salts, healing salves and creams, tinctures, and infused oils. Each herbal product has its own special formulation and healing properties.

Our products are sold primarily at local markets, local stores, health events, Christmas markets, local online stores, and through our online store.

About the position and activities:

The position focuses primarily on FARM WORK. You will work together with the guidance and help of the owner or individually in the herb garden to learn all about:

  • seeding, weeding, and harvesting fresh herbs
  • cutting, bundling herbs for drying,  wildcrafting
  • assisting in Medicine Making (herbal teas, tinctures, infused oils, herbal creams, and herb salts.
  • packaging dried herbs
  • participating in online and retail product sales
  • filling orders
  • updating the website and posting on social media
  • attending the local markets

This position also gives you access to online courses from the School of Evolutionary Herbalism: Materia Medica Monthly, The Vitalist Herbal Practitioner and Astro Herbalism during your internship.

About you and your qualities:

Commitment:

24 hours per week, April 2025 - November 2025,  no experience required

Compensation: Room and board + $300 monthly stipend + Training and mentorship
