Backgrounds of High Interest: 

  1. Engagement and Community Building:Experience in Indigenous rights; youth engagement; community, or volunteer engagement. 
  2. Fundraising Expertise: Experience in fundraising as part of a non-profit or charity, or as a member of a Board. 
  3. Financial Expertise: Proven skills in financial management, budgeting, or fiscal oversight.
  4. Leadership and Strategic Vision: Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a strong record of strategic planning. 
  5. Governance and Board Experience: Experience in governance, whether as a board member or as a senior executive reporting to a board. 
  6. Commitment to Bold Action: A readiness to support an organization committed to taking high risks for meaningful change. 
  7. Global Perspective and Political Awareness: Insight into the Canadian political landscape, global environmental issues, and policy frameworks.
  8. Communication Skills: Proficiency in reading, speaking, and exchanging ideas in English during meetings. Fluency in French would also be an asset.

Time Commitment: 

We are seeking individuals who can devote approximately 100 hours per year, including: 

  • Three one-day videoconferences 
  • One weekend videoconference 
  • One weekend face-to-face meeting in Toronto, Montreal, or Ottawa (once every three years) Term: 3 years
