Position: Board Treasurer
Organization: Toronto Renewable Energy Co-operative (TREC)
Location: Remote, anywhere in Canada (the board meets online)
TREC – the parent organization of Tapestry Community Capital - is looking to expand our Board of Directors and fill the important role of the Board Treasurer.

Expertise in and/or experience with housing, real estate, fintech, community bonds and investments, though not mandatory, would be a bonus!

Building on TREC's long-standing support for community owned renewable energy, we have expanded our client scope of social enterprises and organizations that see the value of social finance to realize their dream projects, with a particular focus on the affordable housing sector. Work will cover a wide range of activities and benefits that contribute to community economic resilience.

The Treasurer will lead the application of sound financial governance for our organization and oversee ongoing financial operations, supported by the co-Executive Directors. Responsibilities include:
Commitment Required: 5 -7 hours per month

We will be reviewing applications as they are submitted, so please apply at your earliest convenience. Our intention is to invite selected candidates to an interview with 1-2 Board members to learn more about each other. Candidates who are nominated by the Board will be invited to join the next meeting in early 2025 as a non-voting observer, which is an opportunity to get a feel for the culture, people, and the nature of Board business before formally committing.
