The Niagara Escarpment (GCHI-BIMADINAA in Anishinaabemowin, KASTENHRAKTÁTYE in Kanyen’kehá:ka / Mohawk) is a sacred and living system. It sustains biodiversity, culture, and community, and it carries responsibilities that reach across generations.

Since 1990, the Escarpment has also been recognized internationally as a UNESCO Biosphere Region, and more recently, in 2022, the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Network (NEBN) was established as a non-profit, based on a co-governance model with Indigenous peoples, to convene the designation and demonstrate a balanced relationship between humans and nature. We strive to meet and exceed the goals that support the UNESCO designation through research, education and programs to advance conservation and support healthy individuals and communities.

Seeking to strengthen and renew the capacity of the organization, we invite community members with diverse experiences, ages and cultures to share their passion as Board Directors.

The NEBN board is currently seeking an individual to assume the role of Treasurer and also welcomes interest for Directors at Large and committee advisors to support the network through relationship building, visioning, communication, funding and grant writing.
